As recently a new problem has been discovered, with the audio being played on the wrong channels. Before the OnePlus 5 was introduced, there were already several criticisms of its design and other features, which extended later, due to new problems. OnePlus has slowly been trying to fix the problems, but these have continued to emerge. After the “jello effect”, a new problem arises now concerning audio recording. According to a post released on Reddit, video recording in landscape mode captures the sound on the wrong channels. Yes, it means, whatever recorded on the right side is audible on the left side and vice versa. This problem only arises if, as mentioned, recording is done in landscape mode with the 3.5mm jack directed to the right side. To exemplify the problem a video was published that shows this bug in operation. In order to identify the problem, we recommend listening to the video with headphones or stereo speakers.

This problem has been explained by the fact that OnePlus did not reverse the audio output of the stereo microphones, depending on the orientation of the smartphone. According to some reports, this problem is also present in OnePlus 3T as well. OnePlus has already reacted, saying it is already investigating this issue and should be resolved in the next update. Anyway, until the problem is solved, it is enough to record the video with the opposite orientation (jack 3,5mm to the left). The problems that have arisen have shown that the ROM is not yet mature enough, and still need some brave retouching. The Chinese brand development team is expected to be working at an accelerated pace to address all of these issues, with two bug fixes and optimizations being launched last week. So, what do you think about this new issue? Do you have OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 3T? If so then simply share whether you are facing the same issue or not in the comment section below.
